Keep Taxes Reasonable (This includes fees disguised as taxes!)
Our taxes have already increased greatly due to the real estate market, and we do not need more. What we need is fiscal responsibility -- a transparent accounting of how our current tax dollars are being spent.
Wiser, Controlled Growth
We must consider current residents’ needs and prudent use of our resources in our decisions for city development. We can move forward without filling the city with apartment buildings.
Let’s Cherish Our Small-Town Feel, not obliterate it.
Keep the Name of the Columbus Center
This building is a tie to over a hundred years of our heritage as a community. A new name cuts this link and will cost many thousands of dollars. That's money wasted, while destroying tradition!
Residential Street Lighting
is needed to combat the increasing crime rate, which has risen almost 20% in the last two years. Turn off any main road, and it's obvious how dark our streets are at night.
There is some progress in this effort. My goal is to make sure it gains momentum and becomes a fact.
Welcome and Support Small Business,
which is so important to our economy. City Hall needs to nurture local businesses instead of tripping them up with complex, inflexible municipal code and zoning.
