My mom is Chinese and my dad is Canadian. I am a dual citizen of the USA and Canada.

I grew up with two brothers and a sister, and I am the oldest. I also have a half-sister who was born after I moved to Utah.

My name sounds very much like my Chinese name, which means

"to Love Life" in Mandarin. It's pronounced I-leen, but we use the Scottish spelling to honor transliteration from Chinese.

I descend from Utah pioneers who emigrated to Alberta.

I speak English, French, and a little Mandarin.
